Substance Misuse

In any business, but particularly in construction, substance misuse can have potentially very harmful effects on the individual involved, site personnel and the general public. We have a very strict policy on the use of drugs and alcohol in the work place.

To support this initiative the company has updated its Health and Safety Policy to include a policy specifically relating to the use and misuse of drugs and alcohol in the workplace. The policy applies to all employees regardless of their job function and title. It will apply to all company sites (including company vehicles).

Our award winning Health & Safety standards are a result of long term investment and an emphasis on training. All personnel are trained above and beyond industry standards in the use of all equipment and machinery which fosters assurance and confidence within our clients.

Our Substance Misuse Policy defines the process and responsibilities for ensuring compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 (Section 2), Railway Group Standard GE/RT8070, Network Rail Company Procedure NR/CS/OHS/051 and preventing, so far as is reasonably practicable, offences under the Transport and Works Act 1992. This policy is communicated to all employees during the induction process.

It is the purpose of this policy to ensure that the use of substances by any employee or any other person(s) associated with Brogan Group does not impair the safe and efficient running of the business or put at risk the health, safety or welfare of its employees, clients, suppliers or members of the general public.
