We have recently registered with the UVDB (Utilities Vendor Database).
UVDB is operated by Achilles on behalf of all the major UK utility organisations. The programme allows suppliers to benefit from a significant reduction in the time and effort associated with completing pre-qualification documents.
Through the completion of the single online UVDB questionnaire, suppliers can pre-qualify for work with over 50 utility companies and their partners. Once registered with UVDB a company becomes part of an industry-wide scheme and as such company information will be searchable by all the Utility Sector buying organisations that subscribe to the system.
UVDB is an industry requirement for contractors to operate on contracts with a value of over £300k. Our recent registration has opened up a new sector in the market for the company and the opportunity to work with contractors who utilise the scheme as part of their prerequisites for all their supply trading relationships within the utilities sector.
The next step of this registration will be to carry out the Category B2 Verify Assessment within the forthcoming weeks. Verify is an extension to UVDB and is used to further qualify suppliers through an assessment of their Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) capabilities.
UVDB and Verify are used by over 80 organisations including utilities, principal contractors and other purchasing entities.
